Hello Guys, I can't decide what will be a VFM laptop for me, so decided to start a new thread, please help me:

Q: What is your budget?
30K-55/60K (Cost included - Upgrade the new one with SSD+RAM as needed). So, being a low cost but upgradable lap is also good as the SSD+RAM can cost upto 10~12K.

Q: Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
CPU - Ci7/ci5/A8 (Suggest me on this)

Q: What is your intended use for this PC/hardware
Programming (VS 2010, sql server, blend, cad/cam)
Browsing
Desktop Processing
Watching HD movies

Q: Order of the features for this Laptop/hardware from Ascending to Descending ( Sort out which features are you topmost priority )
A. Light Weight (as I have to carry it daily). Max weight I think is   2.2Kg+Adaptor(0.5kg)=3kgs around, as this is big concern to me.
   Programming
   Desktop Processing
   Browsing
   Watching HD movies
   Battery Life

Q: Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike ?
A. No Choice

Q: If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
A. No Game

Q: What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage ?
A. FHD or 1600*900 or 1366 x 768 is also okay if screen is good. I will use it daily for 10hrs.

Q: Will you use a Laptop Cooler?
Yes, but in home only i.e. 2~3 hours.

Q: Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
any, as I have purchased Win7 Pro.

I am very much confused as trying to $$$ low and light weight, performance laptop, please help me.
Regards,
Sanjoy

Those seems to me a bit of overpriced. Can you check the below URL?

http://www.flipkart.com/computers/compare?ids=COMDAH27DGEDGKVM,COMDATB5ZTQQZAQT,COMDATB53V6RKND6

Especially, the HP pavilion G4 is at 33K with 3210QM and 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz. As I Already have OS purchased and no gaming, I think Dell models are not right for me.

Can you please express your thoughts as is anything more there that I have to consider for Dell models?

About SSD- I will replace the HDD so, every model should work.

Sanjoy

About that above model, they are specially design for business works like you. Its very solid and robust and build quality is far better than normal laptops.
And about the price its MRP , you will get much lesser in local stores at Kolkata.
Suggested that model because you have a budget around 60K.

Okay, but it said excludes 5%, so what price do you think I can have it in kolkata? Also I have EMI option only, so, local market is okay?

Still, any other suggestion?

My budget is actually 60K, but weight+ performance is a concern of me so, looking for 14" and there I7 3rd gen is rarely rear. Also, I have a requirement of a SSD on the lap, so, need to save 8K for that.
I have almost decided on Asus K55VM@54K + SSD 6K, but the adapter of K55 weight above 1.2kg and so, total weight is around 4KG. So, dropped the idea.

Sanjoy

Weight is a concern, so, no 17". It weights above 3Kgs.

Yeah 17inch is not good for business related using. 13inch is perfect.
