it was running offer till 23 march for all android users where it was giving 50 GB (yes 50 not 5) space free. for LG android users the offer is still on till Dec.

with Google drive there are two types of files, files that are created locally and saved on the G-drive and files that are created online using Google docs.

If one has installed the Google Drive desktop app, first type of files are downloaded into the Gdrive folder and would be available for local editing, even when offline. The revised version would be synced with the online version as soon as internet access is available. For second type of files, internet access is essential.

However, in case of use on a android based system, there is no option for offline editing.
