Low Memory Bandwidth

I have a GT 520 1GB( http://www.palit.biz/palit/vgapro.php?id=1650 )  and i have a intel DH55TC which has a PCIe 2.0 slot.

Nvidia claims that GT 520 has a 14.4 GB/s memory bandwidth but i get 8.8 GB/s (checked by GPUZ). What could be the problem ???

can you post the GPU Z screenshot?

Also, where did you buy the card from?

Yeah i got it from Abacus Peripherals, got it exchanged with my old 9500gt (because it was in warranty and it died) remember i told you that.

try this with an older version of GPUz? Do you seen any significant performance difference between your cards and some review performance numbers?

A weird thing i noticed was that i could play a 1080p video (LMFAO - Party Rock) smoothly in windows xp with my GT520 and now when i changed to windows 7 ultimate 64bit i get only 18 FPS with the same card !!


And there has been no significant difference between 9500GT and GT520, infact sometimes i feel that my 9500GT was a bit faster.

I am sorry dude but cant find any real explanation...for now lets just say the software is reporting it wrong.. try with gpu-z 0.5.xx versions?

 

your memory is clocked at 550mhz hence the low bandwidth
to get a bandwidth of 14.4 gb/s your memory clock would have to be 900mhz
on the palit website in the specifications tab bandwidth is mentioned as 8.56gb/s
hence the bandwidth display is correct
