For those who do not want to change their handsets or cannot afford Blackberrys, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has launched Bharat Berry (BB) services beginning November 14. As part of the national launch, BSNL has opened this service in Andhra Pradesh allowing its users to get ‘push mail' on their handsets.

They can also store their contacts, calendar, tasks and notes over cloud with BSNL's partner Bharat Berry. Subscribers can avail themselves of this service by paying Rs 50 a month. If they want to use both the services, they will be charged Rs 80 a month.

“For now, we are offering these two services. We might come out with some time later,” Mr Rajeev Agarwal, Chief General Manager of BSNL (Andhra Pradesh Circle), said.

Asked how this service is different from Blackberry, he said BSNL service was not a monopolistic service and users are allowed to use any instrument to get access to this service.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said the two services were offered free for a month up to December 14.

On complaints against poor 3G connectivity of BSNL, he said there were some dark areas in the city. “We are keeping on increasing towers to improve coverage,” he said.

BSNL has 85 lakh 2G subscribers and 2.5 lakh 3G users.

Lets see does this step of BSNL increases its users or not..
