This portal is for new users from South India who are using BSNL services like land line or broadband. Though a few old users are shifted to this portal, some are retained in data.bsnl.in (especially old users from Kerala and Tamilnadu). The main uses are

Better get all details ready and enter them as fast as you can. It is certainly a bit annoying and those who don't know may end up assuming that something is wrong with the portal.

The following details are mandatory for the registration
1. Customer Id / Unique IdYou can find this on your BSNL bill (check screen shot below) or you can simply check with your local exchange.
2. User IdYou can choose an ID or your choice. But BSNL provides certain instruction (mandatory) on the format.
a. The User ID should be within the 5 - 30 characters,
b. Use of special characters is restricted to dot(.), underscore(_),hyphen(-),at(@)
c. You can only use an ID that is not already in use. In case you choose an existing ID, you will be prompted to change it.
3. PasswordYou can choose any password of your choice which has minimum 8 characters and has at least one alphabet and one digit.
4. Verify PasswordRepeat what you have entered in the password field.
5. Challenge QuestionIn case you loose password, this question will be asked to you. You can choose any question of your choice.
6. Answer to Challenge QuestionHere you can set your answer to the challenge question. Please note that if you provide an answer other than that is set here, your password reset request may not be processed.
7. EmailYou can use any email ID which is convenient for you.
8. Do you have BroadbandIf you have BSNL broadband, select " Y " if not, select " N ".
9. BB User IdYou need to provide this if you have selected " Y " in " Do you have Broadband " option. It is the connection user name provided to you at the time of broadband connection. If you are in PPPoE mode (Always ON), you can find this value by editing the 0/35 entry in modem or in dialer if you use dialer (Bridge) mode.
Simply click " Next " to complete registration.
If you have an active broadband account and you have entered the BB User Id correctly, you can log in using your chosen ID and password. If you are a land line customer without a broadband, you need to wait till a customer service representative contact you (normally by phone).
