A friend had suggested the ZTE Blade to me on an another forum, since then, i did a lot of research and could not believe that a phone could offer so much for such a low price. So let me cut things short and tell you about the actuall phone, lets start off with some of the specs:

CPU : 600MHz ARM processor
Memory : 512MB RAM(256MB on XCD35), 512MB ROM
Screen : 3.5" Capacitive touch screen (480x800 pixels)
Camera : 3.2MP camera, no Flash
OS: Android 2.2 Froyo

There are a lot of other specs, but these are what are required really. You may argue that the 600MHz processor cant handle it, but according to many owners, it runs like "makkhan". The performance is pretty good, you can do some decent gaming, might not be as smooth as on the Nexus S, but hey, this costs almost 4 times less !! You can easily play angry birds, HD games such as NFS Shift and GT racing run pretty well, but others are stutter a bit.

You can chk youtube for more vids...

The phone a good amount of modding support over at modaco forums, Its not as much as the LG Optimus but still, its pretty good and there will be always someone to help you.

Now all this comes at just around 100 pounds, which is around Rs 7500. For this price, you currently get phones such as the Galaxy 5 which are nothing in front of this. But the catch is that its available only in europe, so if any of you are going there or any of your friends/family, please do ask them if they can pick one up. O0

there has been a good price cut on the Dell XCD35, it has come down to Rs12,000 from the original Rs16,000 odd, making it far better VFM than before. So lets compare it with other phones in this price range:

1)LG Optimus One P500 :Rs 9990
2)Samsung Galaxy Ace : Rs14990

These are pretty much the only 2 android phones I will look at if my budget is within this range.

Now, how do they compare to the ZTE Blade (Dell XCD 35), the Optimus one has almost the same specs, 600MHz processor,Adreno 200 GPU, 512MB RAM. But it really loses out on the screen with a 3.2" screen with a resolution of 320x480 pixels. This phone may get a gingerbread (2.3) update, so that is one point on its side.

The Galaxy Ace, it has a faster processor at 800MHz and the same GPU, but lacks RAM (has just 278 MB). The Ace also has a pretty low resolution screen, just 320x480 pixels. With this phone, you do get a better camera, the camera on the ZTE Blade is pretty bad.The community support for the Ace aint as much as for the other two phones too, so that can be put down as a con if you were looking to mod your android phone.

I am myself considering of buying an ANDROID myself bro ........ I have narrowed down to LG Optimus One P500 and DELL XCD 35 ..............

I wudn't prefer Blade for 8.8k without BILL and WARRANTY , no matter what ...........

I'll prefer LG Optimus One P500 at 8.9k using RCOMLSB in letsbuy.com

LG Optimus One P500 has many custom ROM including the famous Megatron and PRIME v2 and the official GINGERBREAD update is due in MAY so you can very well see the advantages

Thumbs up for LG Optimus P500

Yes that's why we are still lingering about the DELL XCD 35 but CM7 is there for Optimus P500 also and you know something Blade (XCD 35) Gen1 devices support for CM7 has been stopped. U can do it via conversion of the file from Gen2 to Gen1 ............ At some point between there'll be Gen3 and Gen4 and so on....... then what about the future ROM supports ..........

Plus the XCD35 has lesser battery of 1250mah in comparison to 1500mah of Optimus P500
Its just the resolution of DELL XCD35 that's still make us fiddgit
